Wow! What a long and busy show season. Spring/summer 2017 fashion shows are over.
My hard working team and I did 20 shows, 12 in London and 8 in Paris. We also had several Lookbooks where one of my team attended plus, I had a quick trip back from Paris to do some Head Floor Judge duties at Nailympia London.
So what actually does all this mean? Well in real terms, we have been responsible for the nails of 376 models in London and 278 models in Paris. This is just their fingers! So 6540 fingernails!
As it SS there were also a LOT of toes! Surprisingly, this season has so many boots in evidence so not as many toes as fingers.
MAC Cosmetics sponsored 13 of my shows!! Amazing as I love being part of that wonderful ‘family’. BUT, MAC will no longer be sponsoring the nail team for any fashion show! Big changes. I will miss them but I will still be there!!
I have very big news to come about AW17. There is going to be a big shake up in my world. All will be revealed soon.
Some highlights for me apart from the jawdropping shows!!
I LOVE this!!!! http://www.elleuk.com/beauty/nails/articles/a32175/how-the-queen-of-nails-blew-up-instagram-over-fashion-month-marian-newman-ss17-nail-art/
Instagram (yes, Instagram) interviewed me and featured me for LFW!!! Major!!!
Apart from my beloved MAC and another favourite brand of mine: Kure Bazaar, what has been my staples and life savers from the shows?
Minx Coat. This is the solution to stick on nails that stay ‘stuck on’ without any damage or removal dramas. http://www.sweetsquared.com/ or http://www.minxnails.com/
Elegant Touch Totally Bare Regular Stiletto Nails http://www.eleganttouch.com/totally-bare-regular-stiletto-bumper-kit-003.html
Dashing Diva Virtual Nails (clear) from Dashing Diva and Sweet Squared http://www.sweetsquared.com/
Brush on adhesive (only when Minx Coat is used!!) http://www.eleganttouch.com/et-brush-on-nail-glue-6ml.html
The Ultimate Fix. This is a long term love of mine! Used between coats there will be NO smudges! http://www.beautynarcotix.com/order-now/ultimate-fix.html
Kure Bazaar. A beautiful French polish range. Their colours are fabulous and beautiful to paint. They are a ‘green’ range with interesting ingredients. http://kurebazaar.com/en.html
Kits and sessions belts. I insist that all my team carry their kit on them. Boxes and baskets and loose products cause chaos backstage. We have to work in almost impossible conditions (under tables, squeezed on the floor etc) so having the best ‘sessions belt’ is a must. It even has a clip for a rubbish bag! (beware of copies!! There are plenty but none as good) I carry my whole kit in a variety of Roo storage. https://www.roobeauty.com/manicure-storage/nail-technician-session-belt-in-black.html
I can’t write a post without acknowledging my amazing team! First is Jennie Nippard! She is with me the whole time and deals with all the heavy kit lugging and supporting me every step. Plus, this season, took over my Instagram feed which resulted in me being featured in Instagram (see image below)
Special thanks to my core team: Charlie Jepson, Becca Gray, Nic Hills, Kelly Shenton Kimberley Casey. Plus some newer peeps: Rachel Furr, Leanne Anderson, Charlotte Burgess. I also have an amazing French team that come over for London and are a backbone for Paris: Delphine Aissi, SileneTonello, Sylvie Puzzin.
I was very happy to include several Mastered students (I need to write a whole post on the fabulousness that is Mastered.com!!!) Sammi Newell (from Canada), Hannah Bond, Kristine Toce, Amy Oldale, Cliona Sweeny (from Ireland) Traceyann Hutchins and Yasmin Elwakil. They were all beyond!!!
Lots of new stuff happening next season!!! Watch this space. I’m so excited for next year.
